Polar Seafood’s working environments include factories, offices and vessels. Our policy provides a framework for protecting the health, safety and well-being of employees and, where conditions are within our control, other people present at our workplaces.

Our objective is to prevent work-related injuries and ill health and to support continuous improvement of both the physical and psychosocial working environment.

Our approach includes:

• complying with applicable occupational health and safety legislation and relevant maritime requirements;

• identifying and assessing workplace risks and implementing reasonably practicable preventive and protective measures;

• monitoring relevant working-environment data and following up on incidents and identified conditions;

• managing risks related to machinery, noise, smoke, vibration, chemicals and other relevant workplace factors;

• providing relevant training, information and instructions;

• encouraging dialogue and the reporting of hazards, incidents and concerns.

Employees are expected to follow applicable safety procedures, use required protective equipment and report unsafe conditions. Relevant management functions are responsible for implementing the policy and following up on identified risks.
