Polar Seafood’s activities affect the environment and climate through fisheries, production on land and at sea, the use of energy and materials, waste, and relevant parts of our supply chain. Our Group policy provides a framework for identifying and managing these impacts.

Our approach includes:

• complying with applicable environmental and climate legislation;

• collecting relevant data on energy, materials, chemicals and waste and using it to inform priorities and operational decisions;

• identifying practical opportunities to make better use of raw materials, review packaging choices and reduce avoidable waste;
  

• assessing energy, fuel, material and chemical alternatives based on documented impact, technical suitability, food safety and economic feasibility;

• Participating in selected fisheries certification processes and relevant partnerships; 
  

• communicating environmental expectations to relevant suppliers and business partners through our Code of Conduct, with follow-up adapted to the nature and risk of the relationship.
