Education, training and people

Education and training are important to quality, safety, well-being and long-term development across the group.
Examples of our initiatives:

  • Established in 2016, Polar Seafood developed a trainee programme in collaboration with educational institutions in Greenland and The Nordic Countries.

The trainee programme was established to increase the number of qualified Greenlanders who can take on key and leadership positions in the fishing industry. The programme supports young people and employees through higher maritime education and prepares them for roles such as marine engineer, master mariner and fisheries technologist. Participants receive professional, personal and financial support throughout their education. Our long-term ambition is to recruit locally for officer positions across the fleet and develop future key employees in Greenland.

  • GoLearn supports ongoing internal learning and competence development across parts of the group.

  • We also provide trainee positions within areas such as IT, procurement and logistics, combining formal education with practical experience.

  • Sponsorships and sponsorship policies: linked to young people, sport, education and local communities where relevant.
